REPORTED CASES OF SHARK ATTACKS IN HELLAS (GREECE)
THE START OF THE RESEARCH
While reading in newspapers, magazines and books about shark attacks on humans, which had taken place in the Hellenic (Greek) seas, I realised that although anumber of attacks were referred to, nowhere were there reliable statistics about these attacks. In addition discovered there appeared to be nosingle research paper containing the details of each attack. Hence the reason for this paper on one hand, the lack ofthe above, the unproven allegations for shark attacks and on the other hand the extend of the information on how to avoid a shark attack, but also the ‘promotion’ of the shark as a killer, a monster, were the reason I did this research, which brought forward the following information.
